Attire
-
Students are to wear the prescribed school uniform and modification to
the uniform is not allowed.

Jacket/windbreaker must be single tone colour e.g., white, blue and black
with no loud prints or profanity.
-
Students are required to have a name tag with a border of the correct
colour (based on his/her current level), sewn above the school badge on
his/her uniform.
-
Students must put on the approved school PE attire during PE lessons.
-
Shirts must be tucked in.
-
Shoes must be plain white.
-
Socks must be plain white, but may include those with school name. Ankle
and knee-length socks are not allowed.
Appearance and Grooming
-
Coloured or highlighted hair is not allowed.
-
Funky hairstyles or inner cut styles (inconsistent length and styles)
are not allowed.
-
Fingernails must be kept short and clean without any nail polish or varnish.
For boys:
-
They must be clean-shaven with no facial hair.
-
Hair must be short and neat. It must not touch the ears or the collar
of the school uniform.

Length of fringe must not touch the eyebrows.
-
Sideburns must be short and must not extend beyond the middle level of
each ear.
For girls:
-
Long fringe must be pinned up neatly and it must not touch the eyebrows.

Hair touching collar of the uniform must be tied up neatly at all times.
-
Only plain black hair bands or clips are allowed.
-
No scarf or hair netting is allowed.

Respect Others
|

Students must be respectful and courteous to fellow Xinminites, staff,
parent volunteers and visitors to the school.
-
Students must seek permission to enter or leave the classroom and school.
-
Students are not allowed to use abusive or foul language, symbols or sign.
-
Students should walk briskly, orderly and quietly within the school premises.
-
Students should queue up in an orderly manner when making purchases at
the canteen or the bookshop.

Students are to observe safety rules set by the school.
-
Students should act responsibly at all times.
-
Students should play only in designated areas.
-
Students are not allowed to stay in the classroom during recess or after
school without the supervision of a teacher.
-
Students are not allowed to loiter outside school in their school uniform.
-
Students are not allowed to bring personal digital device into the classroom.
This includes electronic game, tablet, mobile phone, smartwatch (except
for those used solely for e-payment in the school canteen) or any item
with communication or recording capabilities.
-
Students must seek approval before bringing personal digital device to
school. Requests will be granted based on individual needs. Parents should
apply for permission through the link provided on the school website. Both
parents and students must adhere strictly to the conditions outlined.

Students who have received permission from the school to bring personal
digital device are not allowed to use it during school hours, including
recess, CCA and after-school programmess (e.g. supplementary, enrichment,
or remedial lessons).

Students who have received permission from the school to bring personal
digital device must put it in his/her locker before the start of school.
He/She can retrieve the device after school ends. Students are responsible
for the safekeeping of his/her device.
-
Students are not allowed to wear jewellery, valuable ornaments or accessories
of any kind.
-
Only girls are allowed to wear one pair of plain, simple, identical ear
studs or ear sticks on the lower earlobes.
-
No expensive or fancifully designed watch should be worn to school.
-
Only spectacles with simple plastic or metal frame and clear lenses are
allowed.

Responsible for Others
|

Students are not allowed to have in their possession any weapon. They
are also not allowed to bring any weapon-like item which is used or intended
to cause harm to others.

Students are not allowed to engage in repeated or persistent behaviours
such as using derogatory or hurtful remarks that have the intention to
cause hurt, distress or humiliation towards others.

Responsible for Learning
|

Students must be attentive during lessons and avoid moving around in the
classroom unnecessarily.
-
Students must complete all assignments and submit them punctually.
-
Students must bring all the books and items required for the day.
-
Students must be present for all compulsory school events. A medical certificate
or a letter of explanation must be produced when student is absent from
school. Only up to five letters of explanation will be accepted per semester.
Any additional letters beyond this limit will not be considered as valid
reasons for absence.

All absences for the WA/EYE/Prelim must be supported by a Medical Certificate.
Students who are absent from the WA/EYE/Prelim on medical grounds will
be given VR (Valid Reason) for the paper they have missed. Students who
are absent without valid reason will not be awarded any marks for the paper
they have missed. He/She will also not be considered for any academic-based
awards.

Students must comply with assessment rules and guidelines.

Students must not attempt to cheat or assist others in cheating during
examinations.

Responsible for Actions

Students should not take things belonging to others without first seeking
permission.

Students are to use social media platforms and technology responsibly
and with discernment.

Students should not post inappropriate pictures of themselves or others,
making inappropriate comments that hurt themselves or others and using
offensive language online.

Students should not resort to unauthorised access and use of computer
service (e.g. using another person’s ID and password without proper authority
to access data or a program).

Responsible for the Environment
|

Students should keep the school premises clean.
-
Students should consume all food and drinks in the canteen unless permission
is given.
-
Students should return used utensils and clear their tables after their
meal.

Students should not resort to physical violence or verbal abuse.
-
Students should not engage in bullying (verbal, physical, emotional) or
cyberbullying acts. They should report all bullying cases to the teacher
or authorities in the school.

Students should not attend school during the period specified in his/her
medical certificate if he/she is unwell. If a student returns to school
before the date indicated on the medical certificate, a note from the doctor
certifying that the student is fit to return to school must be produced.
